Nestled in the heart of Coggeshall, Essex, Ranfields Brasserie carries forward a remarkable legacy that spans nearly four decades. Born from the vision of the legendary Peter Langan - the charismatic owner of the infamous Langan's Brasserie - our restaurant was established in 1986 when Langan brought this second location to Coggeshall, Essex, where he lived at the time.
Our story is one of transformation - what was once a humble greengrocer's shop has evolved into one of Essex's most celebrated dining destinations. The original Langan's Brasserie in London, co-owned by Peter Langan alongside partners Michael Caine and Richard Shepherd, set the standard for what tradition we have continued. Even the décor and artwork that you can see on our walls remain true to the original Langan's of London style.
Today, Ranfields Brasserie is proudly managed by Blackwells with award-winning head chef JB Ranfield. Our philosophy stays true to our core brand’s ethos - supporting local producers and suppliers wherever possible.
Our approach embodies the essence of fine dining in a relaxed setting - a British brasserie with a sophisticated French twist that has earned us recognition with 2 AA Rosettes. Whether you're joining us for our à la carte evening menus or our beloved Sunday lunch, every dish tells a story of passion, tradition, and local pride.
